This website
This site collects nothing about you. It sets no cookies, runs no tracking or analytics, and has no forms. It is hosted on GitHub Pages, which keeps the ordinary server records any web host keeps, such as the address a page was requested from, under GitHub's privacy statement. The fonts load from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests two font files from Google when the page opens.
The NextBeacon program on your PC
NextBeacon keeps your résumé, your profile, your company list, your scores and your application history in files on your own PC, in its own folder. There is no NextBeacon server. Nothing you put into NextBeacon is sent to Rob Hale, and Rob Hale cannot see it.
The program does connect to other services, each under your own account and that service's own terms:
- Anthropic (Claude). The AI work happens through your own Claude account. To score a posting or draft a résumé, NextBeacon sends the posting text and the relevant parts of your profile and résumé to Anthropic. What Anthropic does with that is governed by Anthropic's privacy policy and your plan.
- Employers' job boards. NextBeacon reads the public postings on the career pages and job boards of the companies you choose. Reading a public page tells that site only what any visit tells it.
- Your email provider. If you set up the daily email, NextBeacon sends it through your own email account. Your email password is stored encrypted on your PC, in a form only your Windows account can read.
- GitHub. NextBeacon checks for updates from a releases-only address. That check sends no personal information.
- The licence check. When you install, the installer sends your purchase key and a code that identifies your PC to a small NextBeacon licensing service, once, to fetch your unlock code. That is the only thing NextBeacon ever sends to us, and it contains no résumé, profile or job data.
When you buy
Today, buying means emailing info@mynextbeacon.com and paying through a payment link. Rob keeps your name, your email address and the purchase record so he can send your copy, handle any refund and verify your licence. When online checkout opens, payment will be handled by Stripe, and your card details will go to Stripe, never to NextBeacon. Rob will receive your name, email address and the purchase record from Stripe for the same purposes.
Rob does not sell, rent or share your details with anyone, and does not add you to any mailing list. If you want your purchase record deleted later, ask; it means your licence can no longer be verified.
What Rob never has
- Your résumé, your profile or your company list.
- Your scores, your applications or your pipeline.
- Your Claude account or password, or your email password.
- Your card details.
